The Role
We are seeking a dependable, full-time Land Survey Crew Member to support our Survey Crew Chiefs in performing a wide range of field surveys across the DFW area. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, values teamwork, and wants to grow a long-term career in land surveying.
As a Survey Crew Member, you will work directly with a Crew Chief to collect accurate field data for boundary, topographic, construction, and utility projects. You’ll gain hands-on experience with modern survey technology while contributing to high-quality deliverables for our clients.
Projects may include boundary and easement surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, construction staking, topographic mapping, utility surveys, and design surveys.
What you’ll do:
- Assist the Crew Chief in performing daily field survey operations safely and efficiently
- Set up, operate, and maintain survey equipment including:
- Trimble Robotic Total Stations
- Trimble Data Collectors
- GPS / GNSS (RTK) units
- Hold prism pole, set control points, drive stakes, and assist with construction layout
- Collect measurements, elevations, and angles
- Maintain clear and organized field notes
- Load and maintain equipment and survey vehicles
- Clear brush and prepare sites as needed
- Communicate effectively with crew members and site representatives
What you’ll bring:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and procedure
- Ability to follow direction and work well in a team environment
- Valid Texas driver’s license with acceptable driving record

- Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the initiative to identify and resolve issues in the field.
- High attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a dependable, safety-first mindset.
- Construction layout or boundary survey experience
- Interest in pursuing long-term career growth in Land Surveying
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role requires stamina and adaptability. You’ll spend extended periods standing, walking, and hiking across diverse terrain, while lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Regular tasks may include bending, squatting, digging, reaching overhead, driving stakes with a sledgehammer, and clearing brush with tools such as a machete or brush hook.
Expect frequent exposure to environmental elements such as heat, cold, sun, rain, wind, wildlife, poison ivy, pollen, and water.
Travel
Local travel is required daily to project sites throughout the DFW area. You will ride in a company vehicle with the Crew Chief. Occasional weekday overnight travel may be requested.
Position Type and Schedule
- Full-time, non-exempt role (40 hours per week).
- Flexible scheduling options available: five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days, depending on needs of crew.
- Overtime may be requested at times to meet client needs.
